PRF / PRP Facial Rejuvenation

Better skin quality, using a sample of your own blood.

A skin-quality treatment, not a volume treatment — and one where candidacy matters more than enthusiasm.

The short answer

A small sample of your blood is processed to concentrate its growth factors, which are then applied to or injected into the skin.

The aim is skin quality — texture, tone, and thin, tired-looking areas. It is planned as a series.

What is it?

Blood is drawn in the clinic and spun so the growth-factor-rich portion can be separated from the rest.

That portion is then used on the skin, most often alongside microneedling, or placed into specific areas.

Because the material comes from you, the conversation is less about product choice and more about whether your skin is a good candidate.

It is planned as a series, with review afterwards.

How it works

Growth factors are part of the body's normal repair signalling.

Concentrating and placing them is intended to support the skin's own repair response rather than to add anything to the face.

What can it help improve?

  • Dull or tired-looking skin quality
  • Fine texture and crepiness, including thin skin around the eyes
  • Skin that has stopped responding to a good routine
  • People who prefer a treatment that uses their own biology

Related goals: Skin quality & hydration, Skin texture

Who tends to consider it?

  • People focused on skin quality rather than shape.
  • People who want a conservative first step.
  • People already having microneedling who want to understand what adding this does.
  • People who would rather avoid a manufactured product where a reasonable alternative exists.

Who tends to be a reasonable candidate?

  • General health that makes a routine blood draw straightforward.
  • Skin quality as the goal, not volume or contour.
  • Willingness to plan a series and to judge it over months.

What it does — and what it doesn't do

What it does

  • Supports skin quality, texture, and tone over time
  • Uses a sample of your own blood rather than a manufactured filler
  • Combines naturally with microneedling in a planned series
  • Is assessed over months, not appointments

What it doesn't do

  • Add volume or change facial contour
  • Deliver an immediate visible result
  • Work equally well for everyone — response varies more here than with most treatments
  • Treat deep folds, significant laxity, or a medical skin condition

When it may not be appropriate

  • Certain blood or clotting conditions, or medication that makes a draw inadvisable — your provider will review this.
  • Active infection or inflammation in the treatment area.
  • Someone whose actual goal is contour or lift.

What the appointment may involve

Your provider reviews your health history and confirms a blood draw is appropriate.

A sample is taken and processed in the clinic during your appointment.

The prepared portion is applied or placed, often alongside microneedling.

Aftercare is explained and the next session in the series is scheduled.

General educational description only. Anything specific to you — suitability, preparation, and aftercare — is discussed at consultation.

What results typically mean

The improvement people generally describe is skin that looks fresher and better in texture, rather than a visible change in the face.

It develops gradually across a series and is judged over months.

Response varies genuinely between individuals, and your provider will say if yours is not tracking as hoped.

Timing and treatment series

A series is standard, with weeks between sessions.

Change is assessed after the series rather than after any single appointment.

Maintenance sessions are common and are discussed once the series is complete.

Recovery and downtime

Redness and mild swelling for a day or two are typical, and more so when combined with microneedling.

Bruising at injection sites is possible.

Sun protection and the specific aftercare your provider gives you both matter.

How this may fit with other treatments

Often paired with microneedling within the same appointment.

Where resurfacing or laser is also planned, sessions are spaced rather than stacked.

If hair thinning is also a concern, that is a separate plan with its own assessment.

Other approaches worth considering

RF microneedling, where firmness as well as surface texture is the goal.

Skin quality boosters, where hydration is the main complaint.

A medical skin plan, where the honest first step is a better routine.

Questions to ask your provider

  • Is my skin a good candidate for this specifically?
  • Would microneedling or a skin plan get me further first?
  • How many sessions would you plan, and when should I judge it?
  • What is the full cost of the series, and what maintenance follows?
  • What is this treatment unlikely to change for me?
  • What does maintaining this look like, realistically, once we start?
  • What would make you recommend against treating me today?
  • What are you actually seeing when you look at my face, in your own words?
  • What would you do first if this were staged over a year rather than one visit?

This is planned as a sequence rather than a single appointment, so cost arrives in stages. See how plans and payment work
